What Network contributes to Cardinal Health
• Network is responsible for configuring, deploying and maintaining network solutions which support the delivery of IT services worldwide. This includes network equipment and services provided by various vendors deployed in locations varying significantly in size and complexity.
• Gathers requirements, designs and deploys network solutions to support business alignment.
• Maintains existing network environments through proactive monitoring and problem resolution.
• Responds to client requests for problem resolution and processing service requests.
• Requires working knowledge of network hardware, operating systems, device configuration, carrier interfaces/capabilities and various network management/troubleshooting tools.
• Defines solutions that balance network requirements and standards with business needs.
• Investigates and resolves network incidents and recommends enhancements to improve security.
What is expected of you in this role
• Work on projects of varying complexity and scope in a high-volume and fast paced environment.
• Participate in and/or lead multiple large, highly visible projects simultaneously.
• Engage vendors, team members, other technology groups and business partners in the timely delivery of expected project milestones.
• Following design standards implement network infrastructure at various remote locations in cooperation with other technical and remote support teams.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of concepts and technical competencies to perform varied tasks and projects.
Accountabilities in this role
• Understand, identify, and document implementation steps and deployment of technologies.
• Identify and resolve technical and other factors that delay completion of project initiatives.
• Configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of technologies.
• Resolve complex network issues, working across teams.
• Prepare and deliver project deliverables and complete hand over documentation to the run team.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience with network engineering and implementation - including hands-on configuration of LAN/WLAN/WAN networking devices and operational support.
• In-depth knowledge of most of the following:
• Switching: Cisco Nexus and legacy switches, Aruba and HP switches
• Routing: MPLS, Cisco Meraki SDWAN, Palo Alto Prisma SDWAN (CloudGenix), Cisco legacy routers, OSPF and BGP routing protocols
• Security: Palo Alto NextGen Firewalls
• Wireless: Aruba Airwave & Mobility Master
• IP address Management and DHCP using Infoblox or similar toolset
• The following skills are a plus:
• Familiarity with Infoblox Network Automation (NetMRI)
• Knowledge ClearPass and Network Access Control (NAC)
• Appropriate network industry certifications, including CCNA/CCNP, Aruba Wireless, Palo Alto or equivalent
• Must have strong oral (English) communication and writing skills, including formal presentations utilizing Power Point and Visio.
