Functions/Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise to design project teams. Completes entire design projects with minimal supervision. Expert in creating proper part CAD models. Creates product structures in PDM systems.
· Expert in the preparation of complex design layouts and/or schematics based on rough sketches or instructions from engineering personnel with wide latitude for independent design judgement.
· Responsible for drafting quality of design team documentation. Checks drawings of other design personnel for completeness and accuracy as required. Aware of tolerance requirements for proper function of equipment. Performs tolerance studies on tools for proper function of equipment.
· Proficient in application of PSL product knowledge. Working knowledge in oil industry technology including oil field equipment and operations as it applies to assigned area.
· Applies expertise of manufacturing, production processes, operations, and maintenance practices to designs.
· Assists Engineer in performing design change impact research. Originates engineering change notices using instructions provided by engineer.
Essential Skills
· CAD : UG NX/ Siemens NX. Proper CAD Modeling practices/skills which yield sketches, models, and assemblies that promote error free and update (without errors) when changed.
· PDM Structure building proficiencies in generation of BOM's for assemblies, weldments and drawing packages.
· Knowledge and understanding of what PDM attributes to utilize.
· Knowledge in use of standard library parts. (Use of standard library that are available instead of creating new parts.)
· Form, Fit and Function checks for surface equipment and tools.
