Job Title: UX Front End Engineer

Location: They're based in St. Louis but the role is 100% remote. Must be able to do 9-5 CST hours

Job Type: 18 month contract through with a potential to extend or convert

Visa Type:  must be USC/GC/H4-EAD

Pay:  $60/hr on CTC,

Interview Process: 1 Final video interview.

1.    Given a button element with the ID "primaryBtn" and the value of the button "Test Button", how would you code a button event in React to output the word "clicked" in a console.log each time the button is clicked?

2.    In the scenario that an HTTP call is made to retrieve user's preference for their nickname, for this example we will say the returned data is "Bob", explain how you would maintain this information throughout the different views/pages in your application. Please provide the details of patterns and concepts you'd use or coded examples.

3.    Please elaborate on your experience with mentoring developers.

The Technology Division at Edward Jones is embarking on a digital transformation journey bringing forward new systems and processes to better serve our clients. We have over 34 different Technology departments that are tied to different stakeholders within our firm that are focused on bringing new ideas and championing change to their area. To better serve the needs of our clients, we are looking for a someone who has extensive front end experience and can provide technical leadership for front-end development at Edward Jones.  Among other things, you are a key to the success of our deliverables and the personal growth and development of others.
 
You are the bridge between User Experience designers and developers, and enjoy facilitating collaboration between everyone.  You ensure ideas are technically feasible, and that we're delivering a rich experience for thousands of branch teams and clients.
 
The right candidate will:
•    Be comfortable mentoring multiple entry and mid-level developers
•    Approach tasks with empathy and a service-oriented mindset
•    Architect responsive and browser agnostic web applications
•    Collaborate with User Experience designers to ensure technical feasibility and translate design vision into reality 
•    Build reusable code and libraries for future use
•    Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability
•    Participate in and represent User Experience in cross−functional groups across the division and firm to continually advance the firm's technology solutions and take our systems to the next level 
•    Advise teams on the effective use of front-end technology within our enterprise architecture tools, including methodologies, best practices, processes and standards
•    Proactively seek process and technical improvements and take the initiative to communicate and implement solutions

Project Details:

·  Ability to help shape the roadmaps of multiple applications

·  Opportunity to play a large role in guiding and consulting developers across multiple product teams.

Team Details

This position will report to the UX department but will be working closely with multiple product teams in our Digital Branch Experience area.  You will be a conduit between UX and DBX product teams. 
It will require engaging and collaborating with developers, designers, and product leadership across multiple product teams using Zoom with camera enabled.

 

Required Qualifications:

·   9+ years of experience developing responsive and browser agnostic web applications in an enterprise environment 

        •    7+ years of experience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, Advanced JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, and REST Web Services 
        •    2+ years of experience with React
        •    Ability to use CSS extensively to create custom and rich user interfaces
        •    Experience leading and mentoring developers of all levels
        •    Experience and passion for working in an agile environment
        •    Strong written and verbal communication skills
        •    Strong organization skills required to manage multiple efforts 
        •    Strong analytical and problem−solving skills
