Title : Java-Azure Developer
The Java-Azure Developer position will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance and support of publishing applications, tools and systems with a focus on process workflows. These systems are mission critical Securities Trading systems generating significant revenue for Organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Participates in all phases of Securities Trading & Allied systems modernization, development and project life cycle: specification, design, enhancement, maintenance and support.
· Develops process workflow, content management, and custom Java/J2EE web applications which includes design, hands-on implementation, and maintenance/support. Also design user interactions on websites, develop APIs and applications for website functionality.
· Assists in the technical liaison with software vendors and developers to support publishing systems enhancements, maintenance and upgrades.
· Assists in the design, configuration and unit testing of electronic publishing systems to easily accept input from and provide output to external vendors. Configure and maintain support tools and utilities for all aspects of electronic publishing.
· Provides support for mathematical equation editing and layout; Helps determine and enforce Math standards for outsourced vendors; assist outsourced vendors in meeting Organization requirements as appropriate.
· Leads in the selection, testing, acquisition, deployment, enhancement, maintenance and support of mathematical editorial and production tools.
· Interfaces with the Organization Information Technologies Department on publications systems maintenance and support.
· Provides technical support to editorial staff, vendors and authors. Also engage in user training and technical documentation as necessary.
Work Experience
· 9-12 years of IT experience Java/Spring framework/Spring boot/Angular CLI, Oracle and SQL Req
· Recent 2 years' experience in Azure Cloud environment
· Experience in working on API driven projects using Webservices and/or Microservices
· Securities Trading Platform & Allied System development experience
Skills and Requirements
· Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE development using RDBMS/SQL
· Hands-on experience with implementing Front-end applications using JavaScript (Angular) & React , HTML5, CSS3 technologies
· Experience in implementation and integration with web services (SOAP/REST & Microservices based, JSON, XML)
· Excellent English verbal and writing skills are required to convey technical ideas, write functional specs, design documents, and technical manuals
· Good presentation skills are required. May be asked to give the occasional presentation
· Experience of working with a SCRUM agile methodology. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams.
· Regular contact with third party vendors, suppliers, consultants, etc. to enhance, maintain and support publishing systems. Ongoing interaction with developers and testers, IT, editorial and production staff
· Understand general problem descriptions from business users and use that information to analyze and solve technical system problems. These may often include editorial and production mathematical issues.
