Job Title: AWS Data Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA,/Remote
Duration: 6+ months
Job Description:
· 8+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data science with hands-on experience in manipulating, processing, and extracting values from large datasets.
· Strong understanding of data management fundamentals, data modeling & SQL skills
· Integrating and managing data from multiple sources, designing end to end Data Pipelines to perform ETL/ELT operations
· Strong experience in writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries over large datasets
· Experience working with Relational databases like MySQL, Oracle, etc.
· The candidate must have strong development skills in Python
· The candidate should be having working experience in version control /release management using Gitlab/Bitbucket
· Experience in building data stores in AWS Cloud platform using services like S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, etc.
· (Skill of tool evaluation /AWS service evaluation is an additional advantage.)
· Implementation of distributed systems and their complexities pertaining to data storage and computing
· Good communication skills as the person needs to work with US clients directly and has a client-facing activity every working day in scrum calls and other meetings.
Secondary Skills:
· Implementing mechanisms for data governance, privacy & protection as per the defined data security policies
· Containerization using technologies like Docker
· Strong understanding of concepts like batch & stream processing & implementation using any of the technologies like Spark Streaming, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, or Kafka
· Experience in using reporting/analytical tools like Athena, Power BI, etc. to enable data visualization
· Software development best practices, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing & operations
Good to Have:
· Experience working with any of the non-Relational data stores like Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB, AWS Neptune Graph, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, etc.
· Experience in owning data pipelines in a production environment
· Experience with Python ETL tools like Py Spark, Airflow, etc.
· A basic understanding of the CI/CD process & the infrastructure required to implement an end-to-end data pipeline
