Location: Dallas, TX Duration: Long Term Contract Job Description: The candidate right for this role, Infrastructure Engineer Automation, has an “automate everything” mindset and an ability to prioritize high value infrastructure automation opportunities. This candidate will be responsible for advising program leadership, educating the platform engineering team on automation techniques, developing automation solutions as well as reviewing and providing feedback to platform engineers developing their own automation solutions. Required Skills and Experience: · Extensive experience architecting automation and developing automation platforms · Automating delivery of on premises infrastructure in a traditional VMware, Windows, Linux and SAN/NAS environment · Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform · Ability to script with Bash, PowerShell, and/or Python development languages; Golang would be a bonus · Ability to gather requirements from architects and developers and translate to automation solutions · Understanding of application code delivery pipelines and integrations into infrastructure automation mechanisms/pipelines · Ability to drive commonality in standards between on premises and off premises solutions where applicable · Broad understanding/experience across full stack infrastructure technologies o Database solutions (Oracle, MS SQL, MYSQL, etc.) o Containerization Solutions (Docker, Kubernetes) o Virtualization technologies such as VMware o Message queuing, data streaming and caching solutions o Micro-service architecture o Networking principles and concepts · Experience of working within an Infrastructure team utilizing Private/Public/Hybrid cloud models · In depth knowledge of server based operating systems (Windows/Linux) and Web Services (IIS, Apache) · Experience with Infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform) · Strong analytical and presentation/communication skills · Have clear and concise communication and be comfortable working with all levels in the organization · Effective at both collaboration and negotiation with internal stakeholders. · Capable of managing and prioritize multiple projects with competing resource requirements and timelines · 10 yrs+ working in an IT Infrastructure related role along with associated design experience.
