Position: Data Engineer-DataStage ETL

GENERAL FUNCTION:
- As a Fifth Third ETL Data Engineer, you will be part of an elite Scrum team.
- The goal of this role is to develop, test, compile and migrate ETL jobs in the new 11.7 DataStage environment.
- You will work with a broader platform team and users as we progress toward our 100% completion of ETL jobs as well in assisting in the Hadoop decommission.
- In addition, you will assist in the migration of data to the new SaaS Snowflake platform.
- Most importantly, you'll work and collaborate with a nimble, autonomous, cross-functional team of makers, breakers, and doers who love to solve real problems and meet real customer needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Has a sense of intellectual curiosity and a burning desire to learn
- Comfortable working in an Agile(Scrum) environment; expected to participate in Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, etc.
- Is self-driven, actively looks for ways to contribute, and knows how to get things done
- Is relentlessly customer-focused
- Values data and truth over ego
- Has a strong sense of engineering craftsmanship and takes pride in the code they write
- Believes that good software development includes proper testing, relevant documentation, and collaboration - and that these practices extend to the data environment
- Has great communication and reasoning skills, including the ability to make a strong case for technology choices
