- Significant experience with Epic & Cogito
- Experience implementing Cogito content and security in Radar, Reporting Workbench, and SlicerDicer
- Responsible for the following tasks: thoroughly document and analyze the requirements from the end user, create the metrics, components, reports, and dashboards, validate with the requestor, and deploy to production. They will also be responsible for training end users on BI tools in Epic as the need arises (often during triage).
We need an experienced contractor with the skills and background to develop reporting content in the Epic EMR including components, metrics, dashboards, Reporting Workbench reports (including Cogito SQL), and SlicerDicer queries in a rapidly changing environment that often requires quick turnaround for reporting requests for key business needs (i.e. COVID reporting). The contract position will be responsible for the following tasks: thoroughly document and analyze the requirements from the end user, create the metrics, components, reports, and dashboards, validate with the requestor, and deploy to production. They will also be responsible for training end users on BI tools in Epic as the need arises (often during triage).
Requirements:
- Certified Cogito Fundamentals
- Strong skills in creation of dashboards, metrics, components, and reports.
- Broad knowledge of other Epic modules and workflows such as Inpatient, Ambulatory, Pharmacy or Patient Flow
- Experience in provisioning access to Cogito functionality (eg. RWB Export) and access to content via report
groups.
- Experience in using the Analytics Catalog to document metadata and to use Epic’s data governance workflows.
- Knowledge of Analytics Development Life Cycle.
- Preferred: SQL knowledge.
Responsibilities:
a. Provide technical expertise and consultation to UCDH Cogito Tools Team.
b. Learn the best practices, standards and software tools used by the Cogito Tools Team and follow them.
c. Participate or lead meetings with stakeholders from finance, clinical, billing office, information systems, operations and reporting departments. Clarify goals of the requestors and document requirements.
d. Develop understanding of current system build and workflows to assist with report design and development
e. Take requests from our queue as prioritized by the Cogito Tools Supervisor and request additional as time allows.
f. Validate all content created before publishing. Document all asset metadata in the Analytics Catalog.
g. Supports upgrade efforts by providing technical support, troubleshooting issues and resolving system problems, providing updates to staff and administration on implementation status.
h. Provide weekly updates to Cogito Tools Supervisor on completed work, barriers, and planned activities for the coming week.
