Senior Data Engineer

Remote – Albany, NY

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Supports both Big Data and traditional data systems, in both batch and real-time, supporting next gen analytical solutions, data flows and leveraging best of breed cloud based technologies.
• Can work seamlessly across HDFS and Columnar data systems (Spark/Redshift) as well as traditional row based environments (Oracle/SQL Server)
• Proficient in ETL tools such as Informatica Powercenter, writing stored procedures or creating Lambda functions. Familiar with upcoming ETL variants such as AWS Glue.
• Proficient with AWS cli, Powershell
• Experience with AWS technologies like EMR/Lambda/S3/KMS/DynamoDB
• Experience in version control systems such as BitBucket/git
• Can work seamlessly in multiple flavors of OS such as Windows/Linux
• Familiar with basic Networking and systems administration concepts
• Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation or other infrastructure as a resource automation solutions.
• Comfortable with cloud based technology stacks such as AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with Mulesoft Anypoint Platform or other hybrid integration tools.
• Familiarity with Data Virtualization or Analytic Integration Platforms.

 

Skills & Abilities:

 

• Prior hands-on knowledge of the following technologies is essential:
• Informatica, ASW Glue. Shell scripting, PL/SQL.

• Demonstrated experience with data warehouse architecture and methodologies required
• Understanding of ETL Tools ( Informatica or similar) required
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, identify, implement and monitor outcomes required.
• Demonstrated experience in technical solution design and implementation
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
• Good organization and time management skills are essential.
• Healthcare industry knowledge preferred
