- Experience in ServiceNow with implementing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Highly advanced experience with technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3, client/server technologies, web technologies (AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, REST, XML), distributed computing concepts, application development methodologies, and networking concepts, especially in a ServiceNow environment.
- Healthcare Experience is a preference but not mandatory
Job Summary / Duties
Under direction of the Manager, Service Management Office of Information & Educational Technology (IET), this position serves as an Application Developer that will be a technical lead on the application development team in designing, coding and documenting specifications of ServiceNow Asset Management and components of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
This position requires a high degree of knowledge in ServiceNow and ability to provide in-depth problem-solving analysis skills for implementing a CMDB and Discovery for accurate asset tracking. Will be responsible for the delivery of robust out of the box solutions that maximize scalability of support, content delivery and platform development.
Essential Responsibilities:
95% SYSTEM DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT/ANALYSIS
- Participates in the planning, designing and implementing of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) taxonomy, processes, policies, procedures, and technology to ensure the accuracy of configuration data and visibility across the UC Davis infrastructure environment for all on premise and cloud assets.
- Participates in the planning, designing and implementing of the Service Model in CMDB to ensure visibility across the infrastructure environment
- Develop the logical and physical data models for the (CMDB) to ensure the accuracy of configuration data and proper reporting and status accounting.
- Responsible for providing solutions for services, asset tracking, administration, and management to support a highly reliable CMDB.
- Ensure the integration and support of the Configuration Management process to the other ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, Release, etc.
- Work with various stakeholders and CI data owners to ensure the quality of the CMDB data is maintained and all Configuration Items are up-to-date.
- Configure and support discovery services for applications and physical assets, whether through ServiceNow discovery or external data sources
- Coordinate with security teams to establish secure credentials required for discovery and service mapping
- Build transform maps to import external data sources and maintain integrations.
- Participate in the implementation of CI class, attribute, and relationship properties for all Cis
- Participate in the implementation of a CMDB health dashboard
- Coordinate with other ITSM process owners to ensure proper CMDB integration
- Continuous improvements for the automation and maintenance of non-discoverable data attributes including integration of other asset management systems as required
- Responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure IT Asset Management processes, policies and procedures are in place to meet regulatory, security, operational, audit and reporting requirements related to Hardware Asset Management.
5% PROFESSIONAL CURRENCY AND SOFTWARE & TECHNOLOGY EVALUATION
- Responsible for keeping current in the industry, including technology changes, trends and best practices.
- Responsible for keeping current with ServiceNow upgrades and the impacts related to Asset management and CMDB.
- Other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in a ServiceNow Asset & Configuration Management capacity
- Experience in ServiceNow with implementing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Experience in Asset Management.
- Highly advanced experience programming complex web applications using a combination of related technologies such as responsive Single Page JavaScript Application Frameworks such as: Angular, JavaScript- Bootstrap, Jelly, jQuery and JavaScript – HTML 5.
- Highly advanced experience with technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3, client/server technologies, web technologies (AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, REST, XML), distributed computing concepts, application development methodologies, and networking concepts, especially in a ServiceNow environment.
- Advanced experience translating complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design, implementation, and deployment of large-scale scope.
- Experience of demonstrable ITIL experience.
- Interpersonal and oral communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical audiences from a wide variety of background and diversity.
- Written communication skills to effectively describe and document technical and non-technical information to a diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience/training.
- Experience using Agile Scrum development methodologies including daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and pointing.
- Experience implementing and maintaining ServiceNow Discovery and Cloud Discovery
- Experience with ServiceNow Service Mapping Discovery.
- Experience with ServiceNow Common Services Data Model (CSDM).
- Experience designing and developing APIs.
- Experience in creating transform maps.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing workload and following tasks to completion thoroughly, accurately and within specified deadlines.
