**Big Data Developer – ideally with some Perl and Hadoop**
· Work directly with internal customers to gather requirements, documentation and source files
• Perform requirements analysis by gathering functional and non-functional requirements for the project
• Write Perl scripts to collect and parse data files from remote sources of vendors and transform raw dataset into readable and consumable format for the OneData system
• Upload the parsed CSV files into the Hadoop HDFS file system
• Ensure the respective tables are populated in the Hadoop Impala database
• Generate the metadata and content XML to configure the front end UI for OneData report generation utility
• Perform unit testing on the developed modules and present them for code review with senior developers
• Support BAs with the QA testing of the modules and perform bug fixes
• Keep track of the statuses of the adapters through JIRA
Requirements
• Perl Scripting expertise
• Some experience with Hadoop ideal
• Experience in Big Data environments
• XML and JIRA experience
• Strong communication and team working skills
• Customer facing capabilities
