Android software development for infotainment system: Android developer, doing development through infotainment. Technical expertise and android is required. Building android apps for infotainment systems.
Applications that the team supports are infotainment core apps, (My GMC, My Chevrolet, My Buick).
• Degrees or certifications required
• Years of experience required
• Technologies/depth of technologies required
• Any preferred schools/companies
Bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering required
Or equivalent professional experience
At least 4 years experience:
1 Android development experience required
2 Kotlin preferred
3 Unit testing (general software development)
Backfilling for a couple people who converted to direct, one position left.
• Our team receives a lot of high visibility feature requests, so definitely someone who can hunker down and knock out software development when assigned.
• We collaborate a lot internally, and with external stakeholders, so someone with good communication skills who isn't afraid to reach out to others when support is needed/requested and can demo their software to an audience.
• 80% independent, 20% teamwork.
• We encourage working with others when needed. Interaction depends on the individual, and projects assigned. Someone to use best judgment and reach out for help when needed.
• Frequent team updates on progress and blockers. Twice every couple months there will be demos of software.
• With apps being user facing, we work a lot with the CX team or UX team, a lot of collaboration there.
• Work environment: team of 8 developers, we do sprint planning and assign tasks for a 2-week sprint.
• The Development team is there to estimate how much work is involved with each task. We start the day with a standup to work through any issues.
• Communicate through Microsoft teams, frequent team chats and calls to work through any issues.
• Scrum team is part of a large scrum team and a QA team within the same department. Generally, developers don't need to go into the office.
Education:
• Bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering required Or equivalent professional experience
• At least 4 years' experience
